Autumn


Season : Autumn

If you are planning to visit Bhutan in the fall, October through November is the best time to visit. The weather is the mild and you will see the valleys hued in autumn shades and the fields ready to harvest showing the hard works of the farmers.

As the sky is clear and fresh, it favours the photo session too. Moreover, it is the time to witness the rare Black-Necked Cranes in Phobjikha Valley. One interesting fact is that, the cranes arrival from the Tibetan Plateau marks the end of the harvest season.

Spring

Season : Spring
Month : March , April And May
Temperature : 15°C, 22°C, 23°C

March through May is the best time to visit Bhutan as the flowers in the valley will be in full bloom. Warm weather and  rhododendron blooms at higher altitudes make this time of the year ideal for trekking but there are chances of rain as well so bring rain gears with you

Warm weather , and  can visit  Paro Tshechu , rhododendron blooms at higher altitude , entire monk body and Je Khenpo ( Chief Abbot) moves from their summer residence in Punakha to Thimphu

Summer

Season : Summer
Month : June , July And August
Temperature : 26°C, 26°C, 25°C

June to August is considered low season as the monsoon rains cover the mountains. If you don’t mind the rain it is the good time to travel to Bhutan as you will see fewer tourist and low seasons will  warrant lower hotel rates and tariff as well

Note:

Monsoon Season , Hot and wet in the southern Bhutan , Not a favorable time to trek , cool and average temperature in the mountains areas

Winter

Season : Winter
Month : December, January And February
Temperature : 14°C, 26°C, 25°C

Winter in Bhutan starts from beginning of December and lasts until the end of February. It is the best time to visit the western districts of Paro , Wangdue , Punakha , Thimphu and Haa. It is low season in Bhutan , with minimal  tariff and hotel rates.  

Note :

Cold , level of perception is high enough  , Low season  , expect snowfall in mid- January till early February
